This week we are particularly interested in climate change. Greta Thunberg, Swedish climate activist and founder of the Fridays for Future movement who arrived in New York after a two week journey on a sailboat at the end of August, will lead the global walkout on Sept 20th in New York. Children and adults will gather in front of the United Nations headquarters in Manhattan to demand “transformative action be taken to address the climate crisis”. Ms Thunberg has been under increasing attack for demanding from governments they take climate change more seriously. Meanwhile, Michelle Bachelet, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, warned that climate change has become an unprecedented threat to freedoms worldwide. “The world has never seen a threat to human rights of this scope,” Ms Bachelet said.
